  Workshop on “E-governance and Computing Trends” by Seva Ratna Mr. M. Moni, Deputy Director General, National Informatics Centre

He took a session on “e-governance and computing trends” on 15th February, 2013. He started the session by discussing about geographical distances and the challenges of connectivity among different places. He discussed about the population which is a big challenge in our country. He discussed about the importance of algorithm in programming. He encouraged the students to understand the concept and to build their own algorithm and try to implement them.


    Workshop on “Opportunities in Mission Mode Projects” by Mr. Satish Kaushal, Executive Director (Government Services) from Ernst & Young Pvt. Ltd.

Mr. Satish Kaushal started the session by explaining the importance of conducting guest lectures and congratulated all for taking continuous efforts in organizing many such programmes. He enlighten us on the topic "Opportunities in Mission Mode Projects". He explained how e-governance helps the common people to have more information about any government policies through their website. Once the governing process is made transparent the Government is automatically made accountable. An accountable Government is a responsible Government.


     Workshop on “IT Project Management” by Mr. Lovneesh Chanana, Director, KPMG (Management Consulting Company)

He focused on the topic "IT Project Management". He started the session with the definition of Project management in which he explained that it is the discipline of planning, organizing, motivating, and controlling resources to achieve specific goals. He explained the primary constraints of Project Management: scope, time, quality and budget He also discussed about current trends in IT.


    Workshop on “Role of Engineers in Facility Management” by Mr. Sameer Saxena, APAC Head Infrastructure & Initiatives headstrong (a GENPACT Company)

Mr. Sameer Saxena conducted a seminar on the topic "Facility Management". He discussed about the role of different people in an organization and management of resources in an organization. He explained how planning, organization, and recordkeeping are critical to virtually all aspects of utility management. He concluded the session with how Effective Utility Management assessment uses key concepts from the industry’s best practices to assist oneself on the path to increasing understanding and improving efficiency.


     Workshop on “Command Center for Actionable Intelligence” by Mr. Tapan Sharma, Sr. Sales Manager, NICE Systems Ltd.

A workshop was conducted by Mr. Tapan Sharma from NICE Systems Ltd. on "Command Center for Actionable Intelligence" on 9th Feb, 2013. He discussed about the importance of security. He explained how Intelligent Visualization aggregates networked sources of information from across the organization to create a common operating picture and actionable intelligence and with intelligent visualization, every team member in the Command Center and beyond can see and respond to a common operating picture or be served different information based on role and/or location, on video walls, desktops and mobile devices to optimize collaborative decision-making and response time.
